Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A constable for a local college is facing gun charges.
Richland County deputies say they arrested 36-year-old Errol Rochester Jr. on charges of unlawful carrying of a pistol.
Accoring to deputies, Rochester works as a state constable with Midland Technical College.
Deputies say they spotted Rochester in a parked car at the intersection of Lawand Drive and Latonea Drive. That area is off Broad River Road.
Investigators say the lights in his vehicle were not on.
When investigators questioned him, they eventually discovered that he illegally had a firearm under the seat of his vehicle.
