Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Multiple sources tell News19's James Starks that Kansas State basketball coach Frank Martin will become the next coach at South Carolina.

ESPN reported that Martin sent a text message to them confirming that he is the new coach of the Gamecocks.

Monday afternoon, USC Athletic Director Eric Hyman announced that a news conference will take place Tuesday morning, where it's expected he'll introduce Martin as head coach. The announcement will come immediately after the Board of Trustees holds a conference call at the Carolina Coliseum where they'll approve the coach's contract.  That call is set to begin at 10 a.m.

Hyman's statements will be at the McGuire Room at the Colonial Life Arena. The public is welcome.

As for the terms of Martin's contract, CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman says USC has agreed to a 6-year, $12 million deal with the Wildcats coach.

Martin has been with Kansas State for five seasons, and his teams have made four NCAA tournaments during those five years. This year's team lost to Syracuse in the round of 32.

His overall record as a head coach is 117-54 and he is 6-4 in the NCAA tourney.
