Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the beating of a man in Columbia's Five Points last year.

Tyheem Henrey, 20, pleaded guilty Wednesday morning, then received his sentence.

Henrey was part of a group of suspects charged in connection with the beating of Carter Strange on June 20, 2011. Strange suffered a cracked skull, several bones broken in his face, and had to have emergency surgery to stop a hemorrhage in his brain after the assault.

Two other suspects are also charged as adults in this case. Four juveniles have already pled guilty to charges related to the incident and have been sentenced.

In response to the assault, the City of Columbia passed a juvenile curfew that bans anyone under the age of 16 from being in Five Points from 11 at night to 6 in the morning.
