Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have arrested an assistant coach at a high school who they say committed sex acts with a student at the school.
Darrien Brown, 45, is accused of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to deputies, Ridgeview High School administrators got a tip that Brown and a female student were in an inappropriate relationship. They contacted the school resource officer, who then brought in criminal investigators to probe the complaint.
Based on their investigation, Sheriff Leon Lott says Brown picked the victim up from school on April 27 and drove her to his home where he committed sexual acts with the victim.
Brown was arrested Wednesday morning.
Deputies believe that Brown may have victimized other children, and they're asking other victims to come forward. People can call the Richland County Sheriff's Department at 803-576-3000 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
A spokesperson for Richland School District Two says Brown has been on paid administrative leave since May 7.
