Hollywood, CA (WLTX) -- Does your dog look like the lovable original "Benji" of 70's film fame? If so, thanks to a creative film maker and his Facebook campaign, your mixed-breed mutt could be the next star.

The original 1970's Benji movies was created by Joe Camp, Jr., who found the little guy in a shelter in California. His son, Brandon Camp, is creating a new remake of "Benji," and is looking for the next four-legged film star.

In a statement provided to tech & social media blog Mashable, the writer, director, and producer says "finding the right dog to play him is an essential element of making this movie, so we're casting a wide net and leaving no stone unturned. That includes using social media to reach dog-owners who might have the perfect "Benji" at home."
