Columbia, SC (WLTX) - In response to a story on News 19, community members have rallied to plan a car wash that will buy a bike for a Midlands boy with a disability.

"I don't have a bike before," said Kamran Lloyd.

Kamran needs an adjusted bike because he has Arthrogryposis, a condition that effects joint movement.

"I believe every child should have a chance to ride a bike because he just wants to be like everyone else," said Ashliegh McCoy, Kamran's mom.

McCoy tried to win a bike through a competition on Facebook but ended up falling short of enough 'likes' on the last day.

"When I read the article on WLTX I just, he just touched my heart," said Terri Brown, who lead the effort to get a car was planned.

"I had the idea 'hey, lets have a car wash and raise some money'.  I'm handing out flyers, I've gone to barber shops, I've gone to restaurants," said Brown.

Brown and a team of volunteers will start washing cars Saturday at 8:00 AM at the Apple Bottoms Sports Grill at 821 Bush River Road.

"Lets do something nice to support this little boy and give him a wish that I think he'll be very happy for," said Brown.
