Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Authorities say the fourth suspect in the Amherst Avenue drug bust turned himself in to the Columbia Police Department overnight.

Officers say 25-year-old Justin Scott Edwards faces cocaine and marijuana charges.

Columbia police arrested three men after officers say they found drugs and high-powered weapons at a home in the Shandon neighborhood Friday.

Police arrested 40-year-old Frederick Alan Nitzman, 23-year-old Kevin Allen Fisk, and 28-year-old Bryn Robinson Swaim.

Nitzman is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute controlled substance within proximity of a school. Fisk and Swaim are charged with simple possession of marijuana.

Narcotics officers got a Crimestoppers tip that there was drug activity at a home on Amherst Avenue. When officers arrived, they say they found the following items:

  • 1/4 pound of marijuana
  • 1 1/2 grams of cocaine
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • More than $1,000 in cash

Weapons including an AK-47, AR-15, .357 magnum, two 40-caliber pistols, a machete, a stock pile of ammunition, and a bullet-proof vest.

Officers also say they found an apparent make-shift indoor marijuana grow house.
