Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- After an extensive overnight investigation, Orangeburg County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Bowman man for the murder of his girlfriend.

Sheriff Ravenell says officers found the body of a female around 11:30am Friday at a home on Freedom Road in Branchville. Investigators say the death was a result of a stabbing.

Authorities arrested 33-year-old Timothy Brown, the boyfriend of the victim. 

"Our investigation indicates the motive in the stabbing death of the 33-year-old woman was domestic related," says Ravenell.

Brown is charged with murder. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.

Authorities also say Brown will face animal cruelty charges based on evidence located at his home at the time of the arrest.

This investigation is still ongoing.
