Myrtle Beach, SC (WLTX) Four people were suffering from what appear to be shark bites after swimming off the coast in Myrtle Beach.
WBTW reports the bites happened between 72 Avenue North and 82 Avenue North, around 1:30 Thursday, but authorities have not confirmed if a shark is to blame.
The three men and one woman were taken to a local hospital their condition is unknown but not life threatening. The injuries were concentrated on the legs and ankles and one of the victims hands.
The beaches along the northern end of the city were closed for about two hours.
Lifeguards say sharks typically follow schools of fish or are near piers or fishing areas and typically feed early in the morning or late in the evenings.
