Omaha, NE (WLTX) - The Gamecocks take on Kent State tonight, in a game that will determine if USC gets to keep their Three Peat Dreams alive.
Game time is set for 8 p.m. at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
USC lost 2-1 to Arkansas Monday night, ending the team's NCAA record 22-game tournament winning streak. Gamecocks Head Coach Ray Tanner says the loss of the streak doesn't concern his squad, since they never focused on it anyway. Instead, his team's just preparing for the Golden Flashes.
"We've been here before," Tanner said. "I'm confident our guys will respond. We've got some older guys on this team. We know we're playing a great team in Kent State. We've got to come out and battle, and hopefully it'll be a good one."
Freshman pitcher Jordan Montgomery (5-1, 4.05 ERA) will get the start for Carolina. If USC wins, they'd face a rematch against Arkansas Thursday night.
