Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Former Saluda County Sheriff Jason Booth is out on bond after a Richland County judge set his bond at $10,000.
Booth resigned on June 14 after being indicted on a charge of misconduct in office. According to the state grand jury, Booth used an inmate to perform construction and building work around his private property between January 1, 2006 and October 28, 2010. Booth was not running for reelection in November.

The judge decided Booth was not a flight risk and allowed the former sheriff to post bond.
Governor Nikki Haley appointed former Boeing security offical Luther Harris Nossett, Jr. as interim sheriff. Nossett was a certified reserve deputy in Saluda County.
