Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia Police are investigating a fatal accident between a dump truck and a pedestrian in Five Points.

The accident happened between 10:00 - 10:30 Monday morning at the intersection of Harden and Greene Streets.

Police say a male victim was crossing the road in a motorized wheelchair when he was hit by a truck. According to authorities the dump truck was not owned by the city.

Police say the victim died a short time later.

No charges have been filed at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
