Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies are searching for a woman they say stole a tow truck from a man attempting to repossess her car.
The incident took place on June 25 on Firelane Road.
The victim, a tow truck driver, was at an apartment complex to take back a woman's SUV. Officers say the woman approached the man with a knife and told him to leave her car alone.
During the incident, the woman managed to get into the cab of the truck and drove away. The SUV, which had been attached to the truck, rolled off onto the road, but the truck kept going.
Deputies later found the truck abandoned at a car wash on Parklane Road. Investigators say the boom arm and a hydraulic line were damaged because they were dragged on the pavement, causing about $30,000 in damage.
