Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A person has been arrested after police say he threw a firebomb into a building Wednesday morning.
Officers say 25-year-old Josh Lewis Sullivan is charged with arson.
Officers say he threw a Molotov cocktail (a type of homemade explosive device) through the window of the Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services on Gregg Street. Officers also say he threw a brick through the window of a daycare center down the street.
The tile-floored room where the suspected device landed only had a few chairs inside, so there was nothing to feed the flames.
A member of the parole board told officers she witnessed Sullivan throwing the brick through the window at the daycare and called authorities. Police say an officer came and talked to Sullivan and he admitted to both incidents.
No motive is known at this time.
