Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Five Points Association hopes to bring in more customers with some new initiatives.

The organization is rolling out T-shirts and tote bags. The shirts are being sold at most Five Points bars for $20.

Customers may remember when the association made similar T-shirts about five years ago. The shirts were such a hit, they were redesigned and brought back. The profit from the shirt sales will go directly to the bar.

The Five Points Association says July can be the worst month for businesses.

"Five points is a little slower in the summer time," said Merritt McHaffie, executive director of the Five Points Association.

"So we try to come up with things that we can do to help boost sales or, you know, get some excitement going about Five Points when times are a little slower," she said.

The tote bags will be available at the summer sidewalk sale on July 21st. You can get a bag for free if you spend over $10 at the event.
