Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Richland Coutny deputies have arrested a man they say is responsible for the deaths of two people.
William Anthony Wallace, 27, has been arrested for two counts of murder, and one count of attempted murder.
More charges could be forthcoming.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that just before 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2012 the Richland County Fugitive Task Force arrested Wallace at Bush River and I-26 without incident.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department located Wallace with the help of concerned citizens.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that at just before noon on Thursday, June 28, 2012 on Beckham Swamp and Bluff Roads, a Richland County Deputy on patrol was flagged down by a motorist who found a female victim (24 years old) with severe injuries to the upper body.
She was transported to Palmetto Richland Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The female victim stated that there were other possible victims located at 8100 Garners Ferry Road -- where Richland County Sheriff's Deputies found two male victims inside an apartment with gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The victims were transported to Palmetto Richland Hospital were they both died as a result of injures sustained from the incident.
Sheriff Lott states that this investigation is ongoing and more arrests are forthcoming, and that anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
