Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a fatal traffic collision in Five Points from last month.

William Travis Crutchfield, 66, is charged with reckless homicide.

Police say Crutchfield was driving a commercial dump truck at the 800 block of Harden Street on the morning of June 25, 2012. His truck collided with  67-year-old George Jackson of Columbia, who was attempting to cross the street in a motorized wheelchair.

Police accused Crutchfield of failing to stop prior to the 'stop bar' at the intersection's red light and failing to yield to the pedestrian. 

Police say the pedestrian had the right of way at the intersection when he was struck by the vehicle.
