Orangeburg County, SC (WLTX) -- A traffic accident killed one person and seriously injured the passenger in the car early Wednesday morning.
Investigators with the Highway Patrol say the accident occured just after 1 a.m. on Manatee Road. Reports indicate the car was headed east on Manatee Road when the driver ran off the right side of the road, which caused the vehicle to overturn.
The driver, who authorities say was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, a female, was taken to Orangeburg Regional Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is not known at this time.
The names of the victims have not been released. The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
