Man Who Died in Cemetery Collision Identified

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - The Richland County Coroner's office has identified the man who died in a collision at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Coroner Gary Watts says 46-year-old Joseph T. Beck II  died around 6:40 Wednesday night.

Watts and Richland County deputies ay Beck failed to stop for a state trooper. According to officers, Beck then went into the cemetery, and at some point, collided with the trooper's car.

Beck was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The trooper was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
