Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a gas line break caused a brief closure of a section of downtown Columbia.

The line break is near the intersection of Washington and Pickens Street had Pickens closed for approximately 90 minutes between Hampton and Lady Streets. 

SCE&G has a crew at the scene repairing the line.

It's believed a team doing construction in the area cut the line.
