Georgetown, SC (Written by Wendi Redman for WBTW) -- Earlier this week, a resident of Georgetown County discovered a dog that had been beaten, bound with duct tape, and dumped into a canal.
After calling for help, rescuers saved the dog named Dara, and she's now recovering at the St. Francis Animal Shelter in Georgetown.
Late Thursday night WBTW learned that two more dogs were found in the same canal, paws and muzzles bound with duct tape, but neither survived.
All three dogs were found in the International Paper Canal.
