Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The average retail price for a gallon of gas in the Columbia area rose 14.3 cents per gallon over the last week, raising the average price per gallon to $3.01.
According to the gas price website ColumbiaGasPrices.com, gas prices yesterday were 37.3 cents lower than July 8th, 2011, and currently 40 cents lower than today's national average price of $3.41 per gallon.
"I don't see prices falling considerably until the conclusion of the summer driving season when demand declines," says Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com.
