Columbia, SC (WLTX)- A financial spat between DirectTV and Viacom meant that the satellite providers customers woke up Wednesday morning without several channels.
For parents like Curtis Atkins, this means no Nickelodeon for his twin girls.
"They love Spongebob Squarepants, so I don't know what we are going to do. We will have to figure something out," said Atkins.
It affects 17 networks and multiple Channels including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and MTV among others.
DirecTV says Viacom wants a 30% increase in fees to carry the networks. But Atkins says the change came without a notice.
"I was wondering what happened. There was no update and they didn't tell us they were going to take these shows off the air. They just hit us with this all of a sudden."
The outage affects DirecTV's nearly 20 Million subscribers.
Until a new agreement is reached DirecTV customers will be without Viacom channels.
