Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Club of Brothers Bikers and other motorcycle enthusiasts rolled through Columbia Saturday morning for the 6th Annual Ride to Rid Hunger event.
Escorted by police, the bikers began their trip at 9:00am at Carolina Honda on Buckner Road in an effort to encourage the community to donate money or canned goods to help feed hungry families during the summer.
The bikers ended their ride around 10:30am Saturday at the Harvest Hope Food Bank at 2220 Shop Road with their own monetary donations.
So far today $1,855 dollars in cash and checks have been donated. Skot Garrick at Harvest Hope says the money is enough to provide 9,275 meals to hungry families in the Midlands.
The event goes until 2:00pm Saturday afternoon at Harvest Hope. The community is encouraged to stop by with their own donations and join the bikers for lunch.
