CBS - Carowinds' tallest ride, Windseeker, left twenty-five people stuck 301 feet above the ground Saturday.
Carowinds says the ride stopped at the top of the tower because the the security system was activated.
Maintenance crews brought riders down safely after about 2 and a half hours.
The Flint Hill Fire Department from York County was on scene just in case they had to remove each individual from the tower ride.
Carowinds says the rides are inspected daily before the park opens.
The Windseeker was closed for the rest of Saturday but is expected to reopen Sunday.
