West Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Residents at the West Vista apartments say they are concerned after a 33-year-old man was shot and killed, and a woman injured, sitting in a car in the parking lot.
The Lexington County Sheriff's Department is asking for your help to figure out who shot and killed a man, and injured a woman, while they were sitting in a parked car.
It happened just after two this morning at the West Vista apartment complex on Riverbend Drive in West Columbia.

While 21-year-old Zeavis Blackmon has only lived at the West Vista apartment for one month, he didn't think he would see what he saw this morning.
"Around two o'clock, two ten, and the next thing I heard was gunshots. Like three shots, like bang bang bang," said Blackmon. "It feels like no body is safe. The way this world is going, it's crazy."
Blackmon says he was asleep on the couch when 33-year-old Terance Jackson was shot and killed, and a female injured, in a car outside his apartment.
"Unfortunately in this case we have a lot more questions than answers," said Major John Allard with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.
Allard says the two victims were talking in a car outside building "E", when a third party showed up and opened fire.
"There was also a woman in the vehicle, a 24-year-old woman from Cheraw, she was able to escape from the vehicle after being shot and was able to go to a nearby apartment to call for help," said Allard.
Officers say Jackson and the female victim met at work and had been out at a bar prior to the shooting. The Sheriff's Department says they hope to interview the woman for details after she is treated for her injuries at a hospital.
"We have detectives working the case as we speak, they've been working it since early this morning," said Allard.
As police continue searching for answers, residents like Blackmon are searching for some of their own. Questioning their safety
"Hopefully I won't see something like that in my life again," said Blackmon. "I was not expecting that to be in this neighborhood and have to worry about some shooting and having somebody dying. Then go out the next morning and see him hanging out of the car, it's crazy."
