YEMASSEE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a Marine stationed in South Carolina. Hampton County Sheriff's deputies say it happened early Sunday in an apparent domestic dispute. The victim was 34-year-old Staff Sgt. Jerome Carter. Deputies say he was shot at the home of his estranged wife in Yemassee. Witnesses told deputies said the alleged shooter drove off in a car and said he planned to turn himself into authorities. The man flagged down deputies about five miles from the shooting scene. Authorities did not say if the man has been charged with the shooting. Carter was stationed at the Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station.
