Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a man outside an apartment complex in West Columbia.
Officers took 21-year-old Xavius Quandile Riley into custody and charged him with murder. Riley is accused of killing 33-year-old Terance Terell Jackson at the West Vista Apartments on Riverbend Drive just after 2 a.m. Monday.
Deputies say Riley is in a street gang.
According to deputies, Riley and Jackson were involved in a dispute that occurred about one week ago.
According to officers, Riley shot Jackson multiple times in the upper body while Jackson was sitting in a parked car. Investigators say during the crime, Riley also shot a woman sitting in the passenger's seat of the car. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
An arrest warrant states that Riley went to 26-year-old Jermele Antawin Eigner's home in Newberry after the shooting. Deputies say Riley told Eigner that he had fatally shot a man, and asked Eigner to dispose of the gun, and Eigner agreed.
Eigner was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact.
