Thomasville, GA (WLTX) - A former soldier from the Midlands was found shot to death in a small southwest Georgia town, police there say.
WCTV reports that on Tuesday, Thomasville police found 21-year-old Hassan Williams, of West Columbia, face down in the backyard of a home. Investigator say he'd been shot several times.
According to the report, Williams had been honorably discharged from the Army July 9.
There are no suspects or leads, police say.
His mother tells News19 Hassan had no enemies, and cannot understand why someone would do this to her son, after he served our country.
"I want whoever it is to turn yourself in," said Aida Williams. "You just don't know what you did. You took an angel away from us. It's not right. He didn't deserve this." >
Hassan does not have a criminal record and the family says they haven't heard many details about the case and at this point. They say they are waiting for officials in Georgia to transport their sons body back to South Carolina so they can bury him.
