CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Heavy rain caused the ceiling to collapse at a Charlotte mall, leading to flooding and an evacuation.
Thunderstorms rumbled through portions of North Carolina Friday afternoon, leading to the collapse at SouthPark mall. Officials say no one was hurt.
Photos posted by several people on Twitter showed water flowing through the hallways of the mall.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the mall, which had some flooding. The Charlotte Fire Department says the mall was evacuated.
The mall was scheduled to open Saturday.
