Columbia, SC (WLTX ) - For the 13th year, shoppers can save some big bucks when it comes to an array of items during South Carolina's "Tax Free" weekend.
When it comes to pinching pennies, consumers won't need to cut coupons on the weekend of August 3rd thru the 5th; all they have to do is show up and shop.
In preparation for the tax free weekend, the manager of Education Wonderland in Columbia, Rachel Davis, has been busy.
"We're trying to get everything stocked and ready to come in and have everyone prepared," explained Davis.
With the start of school just around the corner, this is the busiest time of year for the store.
"We're definitely getting orders in every day. We've got two big orders coming in today and then a couple more throughout the week. "
The tax free weekend will bring even more people through their aisles. According to the SC Department of Revenue, this is the third busiest shopping period of the year behind Christmas and Black Friday.
Shoppers will save at least 6% on their purchases which include several items including school supplies, computers, wedding dresses, clothing and bed linens.
"Everybody is always looking for a way to save a little bit on their purchases," explained Davis, "so I think that will definitely be a big incentive."
The South Carolina Department of Revenue says shoppers will save about $3million during the holiday and it's not only beneficial for customers.
"It's great for us too because we'll have an opportunity to get a lot more out there and our profit will hopefully we a lot more."
The tax free weekend starts at 12:01 Friday morning and will end at midnight on Sunday.
Educational Wonderland is extending their store hours from 9am -7pm on Saturday, and will open on Sunday from noon - 5pm. The store is located at 1623 Broad River Road
