Hilton Head, SC (WLTX) - A man fishing off the coast of South Carolina got a close encounter with a waterspout.
The fishing boat captain was out near Port Royal Plantation this week when he took the photos you see attached to this article.
A series of strong storms was moving through the area and touched off this twister.
Waterspouts are generally created by storms cells which are weaker that the ones that spawn tornadoes over land.
