Columbia, S.C. (WLTX)--Two teens, accused in a list of violent crimes over a two month period, have been arrested and charged in connection with at least three of the cases.
Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott says both suspects are 16 years old. Their alleged crimes took place in June and July in various communities in the Columbia area.
The crimes include robbing two women who were walking along Lee Street, June 28, robbing two different women at gunpoint on July 2. That robbery took place July 2 in a home along Craig Road. Authorities say the crooks stole the victim's car, purses, credit cards, cell phones, jewelry and a check book. Another incident, on June 27, targeted a taxi cab driver. Authorities say one of the teen and two other suspects stole money and cell phones.
Both teens are charged with four counts of armed robbery, two counts of criminal conspiracy and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
