Columbia, S.C. (WLTX) The Richland County Sheriff's Department says an explosive device, found earlier today in northeast Columbia, has been contained and doesn't appear to be a danger to the community.
Deputies were called out to the 1300 block of Clemson Road, just after 9:30 Thursday morning. A spokesperson for the department says a grounds keeper for a property near that location found the device and alerted authorities. The bomb squad was called to the location and has since contained the device.
Crews are on the scene investigating to find out how the device ended up on the property.
