Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Friday, more than 100 Gamecock fans came out to get their first look at the 2012 team.
"I am just ready for football to start," said Chuck Smith.
For fans like Smith waiting for the beginning of the Gamecocks season has been stressful.
"For the last two months I have been counting the days down," said Smith.
The Gamecock nation finally got their first look at the team during their first practice. While many fans found a spot on the field, there are some fans that have a pre-season tradition.
"We bring the same truck, the same people and the same beer," said Gary Kitchens.
Five years-ago Gary Kitchens and Michael Bates parked there truck outside of the Gamecock practice field and now it's a ritual many take part in.
"Same spot every year," said Bates.
Fans are still catching their breath after last year's historic season.
"Speechless you know speechless," said Kitchens.
But now they are focusing their attention on doing something even better.
"We got a chance again for that 11 wins again or 12-1 we are going to have to play our best every game."
"Looking for at least 12 wins this year," said Smith.
Spending an afternoon watching the team you love is memorable and for kitchens and bates, sitting in the back of their truck is pretty cool as well.
"This is a 4x6 man cave," said Kitchens.
