Richland County, SC (WLTX) - A man is recovering in the hospital after police say he slipped and fell off an overpass on Interstate 77 in Richland County.

Police say around 4 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the Forest Drive Bridge on Exit 12 near the main gate at Fort Jackson.

Police say an intoxicated man was walking on the bridge when he slipped and fell off the bridge, landing on the embankment below.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital by ambulance, but there's no word on the severity of his injuries.
