Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- A 15 year-old boy fell in a restricted area at Capital City Stadium during Sunday evening's Columbia Blowfish game.

During the bottom of the fifth inning, Blowfish President Bill Shanahan was alerted to the "College Corner" area of the stadium. Medical personnel from both teams rushed to the area as play was stopped while the accident was investigated.

Shanahan addressed fans following the conclusion of the inning. The young man is said to have cuts to the head and a broken wrist.

"The young man had tried to reach up onto our deck, which was closed off," Shanahan explained. "He fell backward.......he looks like he has a broken wrist. We'll know more once they get to the hospital."

Columbia Fire Department responded first as dozens of fans gazed at where the accident took place. Shanahan said the area was off-limits to visitors. It is not exactly clear as to why the teenager was in the area.
