Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Start-up and log-on. Parents looking for different options in schooling their child may have found it in Provost Academy's fully online high school.

From crime to bullying in schools, some parents are looking for other options to keep their kids safe in high school.

This is not your typical high school orientation, after today, chances are these student will never see each other again. Tesha Byrne is with Provost Academy, a Charter High School with a catch.

Classes are all taken online.

"Maybe they are being bullied currently and they don't want to have that distraction, they don't deserve to have that distraction, so they can come to our school and feel safe because they can work in any environment they choose too," said Byrne.

The school graduated 150 students graduated last year, with currently 1500 students attending annually. Debra Holcomb is signing up her sixteen year old daughter Katie to get away from those "distractions."

"You've got teachers being arrested for molesting kids. Kids bringing drugs to school. Cursing. They took God out of school, it's ridiculous," said Holcomb.

Diedre Anderson says she wanted to sign up her daughter Dana after they say typical brick and mortar school failed them.

"She can still work and not have a conflict in her schedule. She can still work and still do her school work," said Anderson. "She is kind of like a loner. It may not be good for everybody but it's good for her."

Provost is partially sponsored through state education funds, meaning it's free for you. A school that aims to place high school students in traditional college, through un-traditional schooling.

"We give them the work. We give them support for how to get the work done. But basically leave it up to them to create their own schedule of when and where they are going to do the work," said Byrne.

Graduating from Provost academy does earn you a four year high school degree, it is not a G.E.D program; however, it is only for South Carolina residents.
