Sumter County, SC (WLTX) - The man who was going to be the next coroner in Sumter County is off the ballot in November.
Back in June, 26-year-old Shawn Ragin won the Democratic runoff against incumbent coroner Harvin Bullock, allowing Ragin's name to be put on the November ballot.
But now, a Third Circuit court judge ruled Ragin is not qualified for the position and ordered him to be taken off the ballot.
The Sumter County Democratic Party says they will abide by the judges decision. In doing so, however, there's no clear cut answer as to who the next coroner will be.
There is no Republican seeking the office, so no there is no one on the November Ballot.
News19 contacted Bullock and he said he's not sure what's going to happen next. Efforts to reach Ragin have thus far been unsuccessful.
