Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- One of the best reasons to go to the fair is for the food. So we asked the South Carolina State Fair what would be new on the menu this year.
You can expect to find a raspberry chicken sandwich that will be made with a deep fried chicken breast placed between a sliced raspberry doughnut.
There will also be a burger called "The Elvis." It will include bacon, peanut butter, and banana.
Also new this year--fried cheese curds. Cheese curds are a normal fair staple in other states, especially the Midwest. Cheese curds are small bites of cheese that typically squeak when you bite into them.
San Jose Mexican Restaurante will be serving up nachos, tacos, quesadillas, rice and beans for the first time at the SC State Fair.
