Charleston Southern Grad Dies in Afghanistan

(WLTX) - A Charleston Southern University graduate died from a suicide bomb attack in Afghanstan.

The Air Force says Major Walter Gray died Wednesday.

Major Gray served as an Air Liasion officer--or "ALO"--in Afghanistan, meaning he helped coordinate air strikes. He was also a  flight commander.

Major Gray was based at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia. He was a native of Conyers, Georgia.

He leaves behind his wife Heather as well as three children.
