Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- When USC begins the 2012 season in Nashville on August 30, it will mark the first full year of Lorenzo Ward's tenure as USC's defensive coordinator.

Ward's debut came in the Capital One Bowl, but this will be his first full season as the man in charge of the defense.

"Whammy" as he is known hopes to utlilize more one-on-one coverages in the secondary and in the process, bring more pressure to an opposing offense with various blitz packages.
