Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Pets Incorporated says a dog that was found abandoned and starving is now in a foster home.
News19 told you Wednesday the story of "Pickles." A concerned person brought the dog to Pets Inc. Tuesday night.
People at the animal shelter say the dog had a plastic jug over her head and was clearly malnourished. In pictures taken of the dog, you can see her ribs poking through her skin.
Pets Inc. says it looks as if someone cut a hole in the jug and intentionally put it over the animal's head.
Since she was brought in, Pickles (the animal shelter gave her that name) has gotten medical treatment so she can eat normal food again. Wednesday, she was placed with a foster family, and Pets Inc. says Pickles is getting better by the hour.
