Lexington, SC (WLTX) -  Lexington Town Councilman Danny Frazier has been suspended from his position with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Lexington Town Council has called a special meeting Friday to discuss what they're calling "personnel matters."

This comes after reports and rumors surfaced that suggested Frazier may be involved in questionable business practices.

Major John Allard with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department confirms Frazier has been suspended from his job as a community liaison without pay until SLED completes an investigation. Sheriff James Metts asked SLED to conduct the probe.

Earlier this week, Frazier released a statement saying he made a serious error in judgment when talking to a friend. Frazier says he had a conversation with someone who was interested in getting a new business venture and that he bragged about having friends--public officials--who would help them out.

Danny Frazier has been a member of Lexington Town Council since 2005.
