Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have announced the arrest of a suspect in a nightclub shooting that left a security guard dead.
Officers have charged 22-year-old James Kevin Bethel Jr. with murder.
Deputies say Bethel shot 25-year-old Gawayne A. Franklin at Mr. Lucky's on Seminole Road early Sunday morning. Investigators believe the shooting arose out of an argument that began inside and spilled outside.
Paramedics took Franklin to Palmetto Richland where he was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.
Bethel Jr. was also shot multiple times by security at the club, deputies say. He was found less than an hour after the shooting, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing, and deputies want to identify two other people who may have information in the case. Their images are attached to this article.
