Orangeburg County, SC (WLTX) - New details are coming out about a crash involving an Orangeburg County Deputy.
Major Rene Williams crashed his patrol car off of Big Buck Boulevard Saturday night while responding to a shooting in Bowman.
According to the highway patrol's incident report, the deputy had blood taken at the hospital to send to SLED for a blood alcohol test, a test officials say is not routine.
The test results are not in yet, and are being analyzed by the State Law Enforcement Division.
According to the incident report Major Williams ran off the left side of the road at a curve and hit a utility pole, causing the car to flip. The deputy suffered numerous injuries and currently is on medical leave.
