Road Rage Results in Shots Fired, Arrest

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- An apparent case of road rage turned violent Tuesday night, resulting in one suspect arrested for firing a gun.

Eric Williams allegedly got into a road-rage incident resulting in altercation with an unidentified victim, around 8pm Tuesday night, near the corner of Hardscrabble Road and Bombing Range Road in North-East Columbia.

When Richland County Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of gunfire, they found Williams in a verbal altercation with the victim.

Deputies say Williams fired his gun into the air, attempting to scare the victim. 

Williams was arrested and taken into custody, charged with pointing and presenting a firearm, and is currently being held at the Alvin. S. Glenn Detention Center.
