NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw got hurt, but came back after brusing his shoulder during the Vanderbilt Game.
The junior left the field late in the second quarter after a 2-yard gain to the Vanderbilt 46. He walked to the sideline holding his right arm close to his body and grimaced when examined on the sideline. He returned with 6:02 left in the third quarter and Vanderbilt leading 13-10. The team eventually won 17-13.
Shaw came in having won eight of his nine career starts. He was 3 of 6 for 23 yards passing and ran nine times for 59 yards before being hurt.
Sophomore Dylan Thompson came in for ninth-ranked South Carolina and had two three-and-outs to start the third quarter. He was sacked twice.
Shaw said after the game that he will play next week versus East Carolina.
