Elgin, SC (WLTX) - Missing teen Gabbie Swainson's mother says she loved playing the guitar. Sunday we sat down with her guitar teacher.
"Gabbs is a character. She would not really express her emotions when she is around people, she gives you that signature smile," said Chris Kelly.
That smile has contagiously made people around the midlands fall in love with the missing teen.
Chris Kelly is her guitar teacher but he says she has become more than just a student to him.
"She was like my little sister," said Kelly.
And when her mother went to her room more than two weeks ago and couldn't find her, he says he would never imagine someone wanting to harm her.
"As this has been going on it has been hectic, it's been crazy but I still have full faith that she is going to turn up safe."
The last time Kelly saw Gabbie was at a music group outing at Frankies Fun park a week before we all found out she was missing.
"As time went on we started to get more concerned and I made a video, trying to get the word out so I made a prayer chain video to circulate and try to unify the body of Christ in her behalf."
The video has more than 5,000 views. Kelly said he didn't make it for the purposes of going viral but for the message of hope that the song in the video gives.
"The songwriter talks about the arms of the universe are holding her tonight. Wherever she is even though we may not know God does. And it's one line that says we believe his grace is going to lead her home. ."
Gabbie is seen playing Kelly's guitar in this picture weeks before her disappearance. He didn't know how to react after seeing it on the news.
"The first time I saw it on the news and having to play it afterwards was really hard for me because I didn't want to play it, I just wanted to put it in a case or on the wall and to savor it because thats my memory of her."
Now he says he is just waiting for the day she comes home.
