Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- For many, Labor Day is a chance to relax with family and friends, but Mary Hall's day started out with some labor pains.
"I started having contractions so I drove myself on to the hospital around 3:30 this morning," Hall said.
At 11:59 a.m. she had her baby girl. And she's not the only Labor Day baby.
"My birthday is September 4. I was actually born on Labor Day," she said.
In fact, the month of September is a popular birthday month for her family.
"My little sister told me the other day she's going to be born on one of our birthdays," Hall said. "She's on third, I'm on the fourth, my brother's on the ninth, my daughter's is on the ninth and my mom's is on the 10th. So she was like it's going to be on one of our birthdays and it just happened to hers."
And with so many birthdays and four other children, Hall hasn't named her baby girl. She said the same situation happened with her son.
"I was in the hospital and last minute my sister was on the phone with me till two in the morning going through 10,000 baby names. And I think I ended up changing his name like three times," Hall said.
Now that the baby's here Hall can relax on Labor Day, celebrate her new daughter's birthday and enjoy her own tomorrow.
The birth of Hall's daughter gives Palmetto Richland Hospital a total of eight labor day babies, so far.
